Bear with me, I got off the red-eye at 5:45 this morning. Yes, I basically went to the writer's conference for two days. Yes, I'm crazy. Yes, I hate flying and am a terrible traveler.
So why would I do this?

Looks like fun.
I want so badly to go to a SCBWI conference. Instead I spent the weekend in the Chicago area visiting family. My daughter got a weird rash, and I got bit over 40+ times by noseeum on my ankles and feet. At least they tell me that was probably them. I never felt one bite or saw one bug, but I got the red itchy bites to prove it. I'll take mosquitoes any day over those things. At least they give you a chance to swat them.
Still had fun. Wouldn't have gotten them bug bites in LA though.
